Man Crush Monday: Tayo Faniran

NORTHGATE – Tayo Faniran says “my heart is happy now. ”

Watching Big Brother Hotshots runner-up Tayo Faniran may have been entertaining, but it does not take away from who the Nigerian model is.

Tayo was confined to the house for 63 days with 25 other housemates from various parts of Africa, and emerged hot on the heels of winner Idris Sultan on 7 December last year.

He entered Big Brother Hotshots because he believes in himself and was encouraged by others to explore that option.

“I like to be seen and to be heard,” he said.

With the finale behind him, Tayo answers some questions in order to give more insight into the real Tayo.

How did you play the game, what was your game plan?

“I didn’t have a game plan. I just went in and was myself, what you saw on TV is how I live outside as well. I knew that if I try and be someone else, one day I would fall out of character. I just kept on being myself and I wasn’t willing to change or disgrace my family and friends to impress viewers or my fellow housemates.”

What is the one memory that you will take away from Big Brother and remember forever?

“Ahm… the memory that I would never forget is when I found out that I have become a father.”

What would you like to forget?

“I would love to forget the hate that I felt from the housemates. It hurt me a lot of the time.”

Where are you currently residing?

“In Northgate, ‘laughs’ I will not disclose the exact area in Northgate.”

How has Big Brother impacted your life?

“By giving me that platform to share my culture, personality and also giving me that exposure.”

When did your modelling career start and are you still modelling?

“It started in 2006 when I was in school back in Nigeria, then in 2008 I signed up with Boss Models, and yes, I am still going to model, I am still in good shape.”

He also added how grateful he is, “In my heart I know I have won, my heart is happy now, everyone is showing me love and respect.”
