A severe rain storm hit Roodepoort last night.
85mm rain fell between 1am and approximately 3am.
Residents in areas such as Helderkruin, Wilro Park and Roodepoort reported damages. According to one eyewitness parts of a road in Helderkruin washed away. Residents in Ruimsig reported hail.
Johan Niemand from Roodepoort West said that mud washed a meter and a half into his kitchen. Another resident, Alwyn van Zyl was met this morning by the sight of his pool being damaged, also by mud.
There have also been reports of houses in Helderkruin and Ontdekkers Park that has been completely flooded.
