Last Sector 3 CPF meeting of the year

HONEYDEW – Residents urged to come and report issues and complaints at CPF Sector 3 meeting on 10 December.

The last Sector 3 meeting is scheduled for 10 December and it will take place at the Struben’s Valley Library at 6.30pm.

According to Carmel Wassman from the Honeydew Community Police Forum, the current chairman Daniel Smith will resign due to ill health. “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Smith for all his hard work in the sector and wish him well for the future.”

Wassman explained that during the previous meeting the following points were discussed:

  •  Community raised concerns about youngsters in Florin Park in Struben’s Valley that are selling drugs. Metro Police explained that they will address the issues about the park as they were also involved during the Greenbelt operations with the police.
  •  Cable theft issues were also raised in Sector 3.
  •  Concerns were raised about the residents who stay at the informal settlement on Taylor Road.
  •  The community requested that the police and Metro Police assist with the taxi rank that is causing problems in Sector 3.

“I want to thank every resident for his/her support during our previous meetings and I want to urge residents to come out in numbers for the last meeting of the year,” concluded Honeydew Cluster Commander Major General Oswald Reddy.
