According to spokesperson Andrew Etzinger the rolling load shedding will depend on the extent to which it managed to recover its hydro power
station reserves and its diesel tanks.
“When it comes to diesel tanks, unfortunately it won’t be full. We are recovering slowly, so that will be good, but not quite good enough, unfortunately,” said Etzinger.
In the meanwhile a minor controversy erupted after City Power send out a Tweet to announce a new load shedding schedule. Customers can click on a link to the schedule which is in a PDF format but the file is named ‘nigga.pdf’ which is a mutation of the word ‘nigger’.
Various people has commented on twitter questioning the name.
