Man passes away after pedestrian accident

The man was treated on scene and rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

A man believed to be in his forties passed away following a pedestrian accident involving a taxi on Mouton Road this afternoon.

At around 12 noon Netcare 911 paramedics responded to the scene spokesperson Santi Steinmann said.

“Upon their arrival on scene they found a mad lying in the middle of the roadway after being knocked over by a minibus,” she said in a press statement.

The man was treated on scene and rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

“Tragically the man died on arrival at the hospital, due to the extensive injuries he sustained during the accident,” Steinmann said.

“Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.”
