Help your fellow man by supporting charity shop

Help someone by getting rid of those unwanted goods.

Ever wondered what to do with those unwanted goods around the house?

At the Dorcas Charity Shop someone less fortunate can benefit from goods that you do not have a use anymore.

The Dorcas Charity Shop is located at 4 Madeline Street, Florida (Opposite the Florida Library). Dorcas Aid being an International Christian Charity Organisation do not pay any overheads from the Charity Shop’s income and all proceeds from the shop go straight into their Social Care Project.

The Social Care Project assists approximately 50 smaller charities, such as old age homes, soup kitchens, child care centres, churches and community projects. Dorcas Aid with the support of the Foodbank, Stop Hunger Now, Anchor Yeast, Africa Food for Thought and Woolworths supply these Social Care Partners with food on a regular basis. Other items such as clothing, linen, sewing materials and haberdashery are also distributed to these organisations on a regular basis. In 2014 Dorcas Aid also distributed 547 524 meals which is 300 404 more than in 2013.

The Charity Shop will be open until the 12 December and will reopen on the 5 January 2015. Should you have any donations to be collected, please contact Nerine Niemand on 074 722 2059.

Clothing, linen, blankets, toys, books, music equipment, furniture, garden tools, non-perishable food items and financial donations are all welcome.
