A round-up of court cases heard and trialed at the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court this year.

The following court cases will resume in December this year or spill over to next year at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.

Two suspects aged 25 and 26 that were arrested for ATM fraud as well as reckless and negligent driving will next appear in court on 11 December this year. Both pleaded not guilty and were released on bail of R500 each.

The case in which three suspects that were arrested and detained for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well as possessing housebreaking tools and travelling in a suspected stolen vehicle on the N1 South near 14th Avenue earlier in November has been withdrawn.

The trial of the sexual offender, 31, that is accused of exposing himself to primary school girls in Krugersdorp is scheduled for 16 February next year. He last appeared in court on 27 October and was arrested in April 2013 for allegedly offering a 17-year-old Hoërskool Bastion-pupil R200 to perform oral sex on him. His alleged offences pertain to the Sexual Amendment Act 32 of 2007. In January this year a further five charges were laid against him. He admitted in court to having “unusual sexual urges”. He pleaded not guilty to all 14 charges.

The trial of four suspects in the murder of a Roodepoort tenant has been postponed to 19 January next year.

Neil Davies, 44, and his alleged co-conspirators George Nkosi, Koto Chabedi, Isaac Mabalane and Richard Radebe that stand accused of large-scale cable theft will next appear in court on 3 December. Davies was released on R10 000 bail and his co-conspirators on R1 000 bail each.

Thabo Mazibuko, 32, that is being trialled for a housebreaking in Northcliff Ext 19 in 2007, will next appear in court on 27 February next year following his psychological evaluation at Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital. Mazibuko has been found guilty of being involved in the housebreaking in 2007 after he was arrested on previous charges. He remains under police supervision.
