For life coaches, by life coaches

CRESTA – Network established to aid mentors and counsellors.

When we are faced with difficult challenges in life, be it trauma, depression, or addiction, we reach out to life coaches, mentors and counsellors to help us through difficult times.

Although the effort put in by these life coaches is truly appreciated and often life changing, those on the receiving end take for granted the fact that these coaches sometimes need support too.

Thus ‘The Network’ was created by three local life coaches for the very reason of developing a support group for life coaches, by life coaches. The group holds monthly meetings and mentors, inspirational speakers and even business consultants join in to discuss ideas, share stories and support each other in their endeavours.

The group was established by John Smith, an inspirational speaker and recovery coach, Thabiso Mailula, psychological facilitator, and Sundowner resident and laughter coach, Ute Frauen.

“Life coaching is an essential service we provide to others,” said Smith at The Network’s November meeting. “But without support from our peers in the industry, coaching would be impossible.

“As we continue to coach, we begin carrying everyone’s ills with us and tend to neglect ourselves, which in turn affects the way we coach. This is why The Network was started.”

Georg Ludwig also spoke about neuroscience in life coaching at the meeting and how neural structures influence the transition from thought to language. “Once you understand how your mentee converts their thoughts into their realities, you can use that understanding to their advantage and coach constructively.”

Coaches and facilitators within the industry are encouraged to join the monthly group discussions in order to help The Network become the go-to support group for coaches and mentors.
