Residents invited to greenbelt walk

KLOOFENDAL – Ward 85 councillor invites residents to attend walk around greenbelt area with representatives from Metro Police, City Parks and urban Management.

Residents and representatives from various city owned entities will be taking part in a walk in the greenbelt area on the corner of Jim Fouche and Christiaan de Wet Roads on 27 November.

Ward 85 councillor Carl Mann said, “We have invited the Metro Police, Urban Management, City Parks and the police to take part in the Integrated Community Outreach Programme. The purpose of this walk is for residents and representatives to see what’s going on in the greenbelt area and what needs more attention.

“We have a lot of issues regarding safety and maintenance in the greenbelts and these entities need to see what’s going on first hand.”

Mann explained that residents are more then welcome to join the walk. “Residents will have to wear comfortable clothes and sign an indemnity form to protect them and us should they fall or injure themselves during the walk. We will start at 9am on the corner of Jim Fouche and Christiaan de Wet Roads.”
