Youth employment day held in Davidsonville

A youth employment day was held at the Davidsonville Recreation Centre yesterday, to curb the scourge of unemployment in the area.
The day was an initiative between the DA councillor Gert Niemand and the non-government organisation (NGO) Thusanang Adventures.
According to project coordinator Prudence Ernest Thusanang Adventures aims to help young job seekers with their skills development and gives them advice on available opportunities in entrepreneurship, government, internships and bursaries.
On the day they also educated unemployed on how to draw up a job-securing CV, apply for a bursary and discussed social ills that come about due to unemployment.
Other organisations that were in attendance to give the youth guidance were the SAPS and National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).
“This will be a step in the right direction to solve the problem of unemployment in Davidsonville,” said Niemand.
