Pothole season is here again

How you can assist city in reducing potholes and what to do if your vehicle is damaged due to a pothole.

The rainy season is here and with it an increase in potholes occurs.

Few residents know if your vehicle is damaged due to a pothole, the problem can be remedied through the city since it is insured against damage of this nature. The official to contact if a resident wants to lay such a claim is Bonolo Ramohlala of Joburg Roads Agency (JRA) at bramohlala@jra.org.za or on 011 2985148. If not successful one may contact Anesta Brits at abrits@jra.org.za who will then direct the email to the correct person.

JRA also has a helpful application for smartphones called ‘Find and Fix’ residents can download in order to help the city in its quest to improve roads. With this application residents can easily report potholes to JRA by taking a photo and supplying the address of the pothole. The application runs on smartphones that has the Windows, Android and iOS systems. For phones with the Windows system the application can be downloaded at https://www.WindowsPhone.com. For phones with the Android system go to https://Play.google.com and iOS users can download it from the iTunes store.
