Four male suspects assaulted a homeowner on Sunday morning 16 November.

At approximately 3.30am the resident was woken when the alarm in his house in Bertha Avenue was triggered, said On Florida Community Forum spokesperson Caleb Finn.

“On his way to the area where the alarm was triggered he was met by four male suspects who hit him over the head with a bottle and stabbed him with it,” Finn said.

The resident’s security company responded to the scene and alerted the Florida Police. A chase ensued.

“They chased the suspects through a nearby veld and managed to apprehend one suspect,” Finn said.

Shots allegedly were fired and one suspect was wounded critically.

A search was conducted by the K9 Unit, Florida North Quellerina Bergbron Community Forum (FNQB) block watch and various security companies but the other suspects were not apprehended.

“The victim is in a critical but stable condition in hospital,” Finn said.

Suspects stole a television set but it was recovered.

The Florida Police has not commented on the incident yet.
