Robert Mugabe’s nephew found dead in wardrobe at Monash

RUIMSIG - A Zimbabwean man found dead in wardrobe at Monash University earlier this week, was Mugabe's nephew.

Honeydew Police has confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened at the station after a Zimbabwean student was found dead in his wardrobe at the Monash University Ruimsig campus earlier this week.

It was also confirmed that the student, Tuakudzwa Wesley Goronga, was nephew to Zimbabwean President  Robert Mugabe.

Monash could not be reached for comment at this stage, nor the Zimbabwean Consulate in South Africa.

“The matter is currently under investigation, but information is deemed highly sensitive,” said Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs of Honeydew Police Station. “We do not suspect foul play at this stage, however.”

Goronga was reported missing two weeks ago. Details on who found him dead in his wardrobe on Wednesday, are still vague.

According to the Zimbabwean Broadcasting Corporation, a memorial service was held for Goronga in his home town of Marondera in Zimbabwe yesterday where President Mugabe addressed family and friends. During his address, he referred to the death as “a mystery”.
