Man nabbed for drugs

Police found a transparent plastic bag with drugs and a glass pipe upon inspection.

A 31-year-old man has appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court after he had been caught with what is suspected to be drugs in Florida.

While doing normal patrol duties Florida Police officers spotted two males entering a deserted house near the Florida swimming pool at Florida Lake.

“The house is well-known for being a habitat for drug addicts,” says Florida Police spokesperson Lydia Dikolomela.

Upon entering the building the police found another male who upon seeing them removed a small ziplock bag from his pocket and dropped it. It contained a crystal-like substance, which police suspects to be drugs. They also found a glass pipe.

“The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs,” says Dikolomela, adding “further investigation revealed that the suspected is wanted for two cases of robbery and theft in Florida and Langlaagte”.

The suspect appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court. The record will update as the story develops.
