Residents geared up in their costumes and got together to walk around their suburb to mark Halloween celebrations. On Friday 31 October, Radiokop Resident’s Association (RRA) held a trick-or-treat neighbourhood walk.

Chairperson of the association Greg Olsen said the suggestion to hold the celebration came from one of their members, Cameron Diesel.

Diesel explained that he saw this as a way to get the community together and know each other. “This is also an opportunity for the children to walk freely on the streets in the evening because they can hardly do that [otherwise],” said Diesel.

Households that wanted to participate in the Halloween had orange balloons at their gates to show that they wanted Halloween groups visit them. Ghouls, ghosts, witches and all kinds of other creepy characters received sweets and treats along the walk.
