Pink show they care

Several staff members at the Life Flora Clinic showed their support with pink hair extensions.

The entrance to Life Flora Clinic recently was coloured in pink.

500 staff members of the clinic embarked on a pink campaign in support of the Cancer Association of South Africa‘s (Cansa) “Big and small lets save them all” women’s health campaign.

Several doctors, nurses and members of the executive management at the clinic actively participated in a Shavathon and saw their hair spray painted into a rainbow of colours for a good cause.

Just like Mrs South Africa Charity Talita Jansen van Vuuren who threw her weight behind the the breast cancer awareness campaign, several staff members at the hospital showcased their support with pink hair extensions made of 100 per cent natural human hair.

The internationally renowned Great Lengths (a company that specialises in human hair extensions) will donate a portion of the proceeds of the pink hair extensions, which costs R100 each, for the month of October to Cansa.

“We are so passionate about raising awareness and potentially saving lives and feel honoured to be hosting the pink campaign on our premises. Our oncology patients are very special to us and we are pleased to show our support in this way,” says Roanne Peters, marketing and communication coordinator at Life Flora Clinic.

“Our main focus remains the importance of screening and early detection for breast cancer. Regular examination can save your life,” says Olivia Curlewis, executive unit manager for the Cansa Northern Business Unit.
