A man in his twenties who is linked to 16 separate crimes was arrested on Monday, 13 October.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department made the arrest, says JMPD spokesperson Wayne Minnaar. According to him the suspect is linked to a murder, 11 counts of theft out of a motor vehicle via remote jamming, two business robberies and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
These crimes were committed between 2002 and this year, says Minnaar.
“The suspect was arrested following a tip-off that he lives in a townhouse in Roodepoort,” Minnaar says.
The man was due to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 15 October.
