Four-car collision leaves one person trapped

HONEYDEW— Three people involved in a four-car-pile-up collision.

Four cars were involved in a collision on 10 October on the N1 North Beyers Naudé Drive, leaving two people with minor injuries.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Mering says paramedics found one person trapped inside his vehicle upon their arrival. “Rescue workers had to use the Jaws of Life to free the victim. Two other patients from the other vehicles sustained only minor injuries.”

The man, in his 30s, was treated on the scene with advanced life support before he was transported to a nearby hospital with the two remaining patients.

Meiring adds that the cars were in the fast lane of the road, but the cause of the accident has not been established, however. One vehicle was badly damaged and the other left in a moderate condition.
