JRA’s Find and Fix app scoops up multiple awards during Transport Month

METRO - The Find & Fix App has received top honours at the Microsoft Partner Network Awards

With October being Transport Month, the Johannesburg Road Agency’s Find and Fix mobile app receives a tick of approval.

The Find and Fix mobile app, developed by Intervate, received top honours at the Microsoft Partner Network Awards 2014 held at the Inanda Club in Sandton on 2 October.

The agency has hailed the app as the first of its kind on the continent.

During this month, the city is going all out to engage with residents on road safety, public transport and infrastructure.

The Find and Fix app was instrumental in winning the Microsoft Application Development Partner of the Year Award, Public Sector Industry Award and winner of the prestigious Managing Director’s Award.

The annual awards ceremony honoured Microsoft partners for delivering innovative solutions that directly address customer challenges.

The app was designed to allow residents to report road infrastructure issues such as potholes, problems with traffic signals and storm water drains.

Since the launch of the app earlier this year, 5 728 residents have registered and 9 749 reported issues on potholes, traffic signals, storm water drains, manhole covers and other infrastructure matters.

JRA managing director Skhumbuzo Macozoma highlighted that the app has positioned the city and the agency at the forefront of technology and innovation.

The Find and Fix app is freely downloadable on mobile operating system platforms such as Windows Phone 8, Android and iOS.
