Allen Glen pupils do it again
ALLENS NEK - Three pupils from Allen Glen High School made it through to the U/15 Golden Lions Iqhawe team.
For the second year running, Allen Glen High School produced rugby players that were selected for the Golden Lions U/15 Iqhawe team. .
Departmental head of sports at Allen Glen, Hennie van Vuuren said, three pupils from the school, Revin Mizen, Jared Scrooby and Kyle Ryan made it through a tough elimination process which earned them a spot to play for the team. “These players had to prove themselves among more than 80 other players from different schools in Johannesburg.”
The trials were held at Hoërskool Florida. Van Vuuren continued to say that the pupils made the school proud. “This is a huge achievement for us as the school; it goes to prove that we are moving in the right direction as far as rugby is concerned.”
Last year, four pupils from the school were also selected to play for the Golden Lions U/14 Iqhawe team.
