It is believed that a driver lost control of his minibus taxi and caused an accident in Ruimsig.

On Thursday morning (2 October) nine people were injured when a minibus overturned on Deysel Road.

“Reports from the scene indicate that the minibus left the roadway, crashed through a fence and came to a standstill on its side,” says Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann.

“Paramedics assessed all the occupants at the scene and found that nine people had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.”

The injured were treated on scene and transported to various hospitals for further medical care. Steinmann says the cause of the accident and preceding events remain the subject of a police investigation.
