Davidsonville swimming pool opens

The swimming pool boasts of two permanent lifeguards and a seasonal lifeguard.

The Davidsonville Swimming Pool opened recently after undergoing a revamp for some time. Davidsonville residents could not wait to have a dip in the cool water.

This swimming pool boasts two permanent lifeguards and a seasonal lifeguard. It is open from 10am until 5pm every day.

Aubrey Thomas, president of the Region C Sports Council, appeals to the community about the following:

  • Although the swimming pool opens at 10am, staff would like to see only adults and/ or pensioners swimming at that time.
  • Children have to be at school at that time and should not be at the pool, unless during school holidays, on weekends and public holidays.
  • Residents are requested not to bring any alcohol, drugs and weapons to the pool.
  • Parents are encouraged to buy proper swimming costumes for their children.
  • ? Residents should refrain from swimming with their clothes on. Only the correct swimming regalia should be worn.

Thomas also appeals to the community to respect the staff at the swimming pool and in particular, that parents encourage their children to do so.

The pool is apolitical, non-racist, non-sexist, and no swearing, fighting or racial abuse will be tolerated.

A group of six youngsters have volunteered to keep the swimming pool clean and make sure that nothing is vandalised.
