Maragon gets wet for charity

Pupils staggered everyone by collecting R7 800.

High school pupils of Maragon Private Schools challenged the high school staff to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge recently.

For every R100 the pupils collected for charity, a staff member had to brave a bucket of ice water. The pupils staggered everyone as they collected R7 800, which meant every staff member would have to face the music.

Charities that were nominated to benefit from the event are Joy in a Box (which makes Christmas special for underprivileged children) and Mug and Tree (a feeding scheme for less fortunate people in the Krugersdorp area).

Maragon Ruimsig urges other schools in the area to take on the challenge also. The school thanks its pupils for the overwhelming response to this charity drive.
