Two of four suspects have been arrested for common robbery.
A female motorist was travelling on Randfontein Road on Tuesday (16 September). When she stopped at the corner of Gustav and Randfontein Roads to ask for directions, four males surrounded her vehicle. The one at the driver’s side demanded her to open the door. When she refused a scuffle broke out.
Once he forced open the door he grabbed the woman’s handbag containing cash, her cellphone and credit card as well as her car keys.
The four suspects fled into the veld next to the road.
The police managed to arrest two of the suspects. They will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon on charges of common robbery.
