Police keeping schools crime-free

Hoërskool die Adelaar receives surprise visit by police.

Approximately 20 police members, including two narcotics officers, visited Hoërskool die Adelaar this morning (18 September) to conduct a surprise search.

According to Roodepoort Police spokesperson Nonhlanhla Kumalho the visit is a routine procedure that is conducted at all the schools in the area. This was Hoërskool die Adelaar’s first visit this year.

Pupils and their bags and suitcases were searched by both male and female officers, looking for weapons and drugs. Only two pupils were found to have dagga and/or drug paraphernalia on them.

The pupils were asked by the police to report any criminal activity in their school.

  1. They should definatly give a surprise visit to Roodepark School. Children there are to scared to report their fellow class mates, because they carry wepons and are afraid for their own safety. Often there are fights after school.
