Kachelhoffer awaits Cape Pioneer Stage Race

Kachelhoffer has migrated from eight teams since he began cycling in 2004.

Hanco Kachelhoffer is a 29-year-old professional cyclist from Honeydew.

The Bloemfontein-born cyclist started cycling professionally in 2004 for the Exel Cycling Team and today he rides for Altech Autopage.

He trains every day between 80 and 120km in the cradle.

He is married to An-Li Kachelhoffer who also is a professional cyclist. She finished 22nd in the Women’s Commonwealth Games and will be representing South Africa in Spain at the World Championships on 27 September.

Kachelhoffer has migrated from eight professional teams since he began cycling in 2004.

Kachelhoffer currently rides for Altech Autopage. The team mainly focuses on mountain biking, although they also undertake road races. Earlier this year, Kachelhoffer together with his teammate Chris Wolhuter, managed to finish fourth overall in the JoBerg2C – a nine-day race from Johannesburg to Durban.

Kachelhoffer recently won the Carousel road race in Pretoria.

At the moment the team’s focus is on the 2014 Cape Pioneer Stage Race in October. The race is seven days long and starts in Oudshoorn. Some of the best mountain bikers will be competing in the race.

In last year’s Cape Pioneer Stage Race the team finished 10th overall. Again, top 10 will be their goal this year.
