LITTLE FALLS - Pupils from Trinityhouse Little Fall excel in their different sporting codes.

It’s been raining success in the sporting arena for a number of Trinityhouse Little Falls Pupils.

In the past few weeks, some of the pupils from the school achieved great results in different sporting codes.

Beate Malan (13), a Grade 8 pupil at the school, was selected to compete in the national gymnastic championships.

She recently received a gold medal for vault and was also selected to represent South Africa in the Zone 6 trials federation team.

Beate attributes hard work and proper preparation for her outstanding results.

She also mentioned that she has been doing the sport since she was a toddler.

“I love this sport because it is extraordinary. I fly through the air.”

Beate adds that she also likes the flexibility of the sport.

“It also helps me improve my other skills like strength and I now understand my body and mind even more.”

On the other side of things, there is Tanith de Reuck who is in Grade 10 at Trinityhouse Little Falls.

She took part in the provincial indoor hockey championships and will also be participating in the national championships in December.

She said she enjoys the sport because it improves her team-work skills.

She also love the aggressiveness of hockey. “It helps one to take anger out in the field.”

Ryan Mashall is a cross country athlete. The 13-year-old made it to the Northern District team.

He participated in the inter-district championships that took place recently, which he says was a good competition but very challenging.

“More than 150 athletes participated in the competition,” said Ryan.

Figure skater Bradley van Vuuren received his provincial synchronised colours with his team.

All the pupils agreed that good time management was very important as they have to make sure that their school work is not neglected and also have enough training time.

Sports coordinator at Trinityhouse Little Falls Jason Smith said they were proud of the pupils’ achievements.
