Showcase to benefit Hip Hop Academy stars

Two dancers selected to represent South Africa at the international Championships.

The Mario Gomes Hip Hop Academy will dance to raise funds this September.

Two of their dancers, Terrence Nkwatshirema and Khaya Dhladhla were selected to represent South Africa at the Hip Hop World Championships later this year. Unfortunately, these two talented dancers cannot afford the trip and the academy decided to hold a showcase to raise funds.

“All of these dance crews are ranked first in South Africa. It’s a show not to be missed,” says Mario Gomes, founder and instructor at the academy.

The World Championship solo dancers, Precision crew, Junior Meninas World crew, LXD crew and Hush crew will be performing in the showcase on Wednesday 17 September. Terrence and Khaya also will feature in a special duo number.

“All ticket sales will be donated to Khaya and Terrence to help them pay for their flights and accommodation for the World Hip Hop Championships in Germany,” says Gomes.

“Residents’ support will be appreciated greatly.”

The showcase will be held at the Roodepoort Theatre’s main auditorium. Tickets cost R80 per person and can be booked in advance from the Mario Gomes Hip Hop Academy. For further details or to book tickets contact Mario Gomes on 079 187 7001.
