Micheal scoops silver at African Youth Games.

Michael represented South Africa in junior Kumite and Unison Kata.

Michael Azih, a student from the Palm Court Karate Centre in Weltevreden Park represented South Africa at the second African Youth Games in Gaborone in Botswana recently.

Gaborone, the capital city of Botswana, welcomed 2 500 youths representing the best young athletes from 54 African countries.

The sport of karate had participants from 18 countries of which 17 had teams representing them. Michael represented South Africa in the Junior Kumite and Unison Kata categories.

Michael and his team scooped up second place in the Unison division, winning a well-deserved silver medal for team South Africa.
