Baby Moses opens new satellite home

Besides the Roodepoort homes Baby Moses now has six homes in Bodibe, Lichtenburg.

Originally planning to extend an existing home in Bodibe in Lichtenburg, the Baby Moses Baby Sanctuary was able to open an entirely new home.

“Originally the idea was to create space for three children in one of the homes, but our plans were put on ice when we found that nine children actually needed help.

“We decided rather to rent a newly built home nearby, which now accommodates the nine children as well as two volunteers as care workers,” says Lanie de Klerk, founder and fundraiser.

Baby Moses was started at her own home in Helderkruin in 2005 and besides their various homes in Roodepoort, they now boast six homes in Bodibe.

“Through opening two new homes and four additional satellite homes we managed to admit an additional 43 children to our care; for this we thank each sponsor and donor from the bottom of our hearts.”

However, Baby Moses still seeks support for the Bodibe homes as well as some of its beneficiaries.

“Any household items, storage containers, clothes and nappies will be highly appreciated.”

Four female beneficiaries are looking for work in Johannesburg and are willing to clean houses and offices, and care for children.

They’re also looking for sponsors and corporate or promotional items for a raffle at their upcoming fundraising event on 13 September.
