Generations actors sacked
AUCKLAND PARK- 16 Generations fired for demanding better salaries.
Some of Generation’s most loved actors and actresses have been fired following a wage and contractual dispute with the soapie creators.
The cast members are said to have been in a dispute with the show creates and the South African Broadcasting Cooperation (SABC) for a year now. Negotiations were put in place and all striking members were ordered to return to work on 18 July. As a result of their refusal to resume their duties16 strikers have been dismissed.
The striking actors were demanding higher salaries, extended contracts and royalties from episodes that have been rebroadcast.
The 16 cast members fired are:
