Although the stretch of Albertina Sisulu Road passing Princess informal settlement were open for traffic at peak time this morning (15 August) it has been closed again.
More violence in the form of stone throwing, the burning of tyres and intimidation has erupted and the public order policing unit as well as the Metro Police is on the scene to monitor the situation.
According to a source on the scene the protesters has indicated that they will not stop until MMC for Housing Dan Bovu meets with them in person.
The road is closed off between Westgate Shopping Centre and Corlett Avenue. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
