No Ebola outbreak in Joburg

WESTBURY - It has been confirmed that there is no Ebola outbreak in Joburg, despite earlier suspicions.

Fear reportedly spread in the Rahima Moosa Mother & Child hospital when a suspected Ebola case was reported on 14 August.

DA Gauteng Health spokesperson Jack Bloom has confirmed that the tests in the hospital have come back negative.

The patient allegedly a pregnant women from Guinea, was tested and kept in isolation.

Earlier, Bloom said he received information that a patient had been taken into the hospital and had been kept in isolation.
