The Panorama Sports Club held a rugby festival on Saturday 9 August. The rugby stadium was abuzz with muscular lads ranging from seven years to 21 years.

This annual event is dedicated to developing basic rugby skills among SA’s youth to help towards a successful career at school level and beyond.

The overcast day came with highly energised players who kept in good spirits by performing their clubs’ war cris. All divisions of the Panorama Rugby Club (Cobras) played against the Edenvale Wasps, except the Under 18 ( Barbarian Cobras) who played against Union Rugby Club from Brakpan.

Stands were filled with parents, friends and neighbours who came out to support the players.

“This day is exciting and emotional at the same time since this is our first home tournament. It took us two years to lay the grass and the boys really made us proud, “ says Kim van Es, secretary of the Panorama Junior Rugby Club.

FINAL SCORES:

U/7 Cobras 0 – 55 Edenvale Wasps

U/8 Cobras 20 – 30 Edenvale Wasps

U/9 Cobras 20 – 15 Edenvale Wasps

U/10 Cobras 24 – 17 Edenvale Wasps

U/12 Cobras 36 – 10 Edenvale Wasps

U/18 Barbarian Cobras 38 – 10 Union (Brakpan)
