UK most wanted in Randburg

FERNDALE – Man sentenced with conspiracy to supply cocaine and fraudulent trading flees UK and is arrested in Midrand.

A man labeled as one of the United Kingdom’s (UK) most wanted made his first court appearance at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court.

Martin Evans (52) appeared at the court on 4 August, having been arrested in Midrand on 2 August for failing to complete a 21-year prison sentence for conspiracy to supply cocaine, and fraudulent trading, in the UK.

His case was postponed to 11 August, and it is believed that he may be extradited to the UK.

Evans, who is from Swansea, Wales, was sentenced to prison in 2006. In 2011 he was allowed a short release, but he did not return.

UK Police named him as one of the country’s “most wanted” in 2012.
