Princess of thieves has a heart of gold

Abraham Kriel orphanage will benefit from festivities.

Rita Welgemoed’s pub, Prince of Thieves might have an ominous sounding name, but her heart is in the right place when it comes to children.

Having adopted two children of her own, she has an especially soft spot for orphans and when an acquaintance told her that the Abraham Kriel orphanage has fallen on hard times she decided to use Women’s Day as a vehicle to raise funds for this institution.

On 9 August the Prince of Thieves will host a talent competition (R100 entrance fee) and a potjiekos competition (R100 entry fee) alongside live entertainment and stalls to raise funds for these children.

All proceeds on the day will go towards this charity.

The parking area will be blocked off and Welgemoed has indicated that there will be all kinds of surprises during the day.

For more information or to book an entry or space for a stall, Welgemoed can be contacted on 079 823 3542.
