Three houses targeted in Ontdekkers Park

Neighbourhood Watch not certain if gang is targeting the area.

With three houses having been targeted in the past week, crime is definitely on the rise in Ontdekkers Park, says Bernard Farrell, Ontdekkers Park Neighbourhood Watch spokesperson.

Between last Tuesday (22 July) and this Tuesday (29 July) at least three houses were targeted. A house in Plover Street was burgled on Wednesday and another house on Finch Street was robbed on Thursday.

Farrell says a third house was targeted in Georginia Street Tuesday, having been on the scene himself.

“It was an attempted burglary.

“Police was on scene to see if they can find anything the suspects might have left behind.

“It is believed that there were two suspects involved. We’re not certain if it’s a group targeting the neighbourhood.

“A case later was opened.”

Police informed him, Farrell said, that a suspicious blue Chevrolet hatchback vehicle was in the area around the time of the incident.

Farrell urges residents to be vigilant and join in their neighbourhood patrols.
