The feeding scheme at Hoërskool Die Adelaar has been a life line for more than 200 families that received a food parcel with the bare necessities once a month.

For many of these families the parcels were the only groceries they would have in a month. Although pupils get a meal once a day at the school, the rest of the families still go hungry without the help of these food parcels.

Unfortunately the scheme depends completely on donations they received and now the donations have dried up.

Alexandria Ulrich, a teacher at the school who runs the feeding scheme with the help of Deon Janse van Rensburg is appealing to the public, businesses and churches please to contribute whatever they can spare to fill the tummies of these less fortunate families.

A typical parcel would consist of items such as long life milk, maize meal, sugar, coffee, tea, canned food and other non- perishable food items.

For more information or to arrange to drop off donations, contact Ulrich on 011 762 1044 or 082 4866 384. Alternatively she can be reached at ulrichalexandria@gmail.com. Janse van Rensburg can also be contacted on 061 721 5713.
