RANDPARK RIDGE – Vital Med Ambulance Services was called out to a homicide in Randpark Ridge this morning.
According to Vital Med spokesperson Tania du Toit, when the emergency services arrived, they discovered a woman who was allegedly stabbed to death in her kitchen.
“When we arrived at around 7am we came across a woman who was stabbed several times in her back before she passed away shortly thereafter. We suspect that her husband stabbed her to death.”
Du Toit said the husband was the only other person in the house, making him the main suspect.
She added that the time of death was approximately 2am on the same morning.
Honeydew police spokesperson Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs confirmed that a 42-year-old man has been taken into custody after the police discovered his dead wife at their house in Randpark Ridge.
“The Honeydew Police detective services are still busy on the scene with forensic personnel. We can confirm that the man has been taken in for questioning but he has not been charged yet as a case of murder is being investigated.”
She said, unfortunately, they cannot give any further information as the detectives and officers are still busy with the investigation.
