Hygiene highlighted on Mandela Day
Mandela celebrated with donations and a graduation at SA Child Welfare Roodepoort.
South African Child Welfare’s Roodepoort branch was the delighted recipients of hygiene gifts from Bidvest Steiner Hygiene on Friday (18 July).
The company gave 67 minutes to the Roodepoort branch in donating and installing hygiene products such as toilet paper holders and shower gel.
Office manager Estelle Odendaal was very pleased with the much-needed donation and said the branch also will celebrate this Mandela Day with a graduation ceremony.
“We have been managing the Girl Child Project for the past few months, our initiative in which we took female children and provided them with mentorship.
“We wanted to spark their interest in future careers and possibly entrepreneurship.
“For example if a girl wants to become a hairdresser, we would organise a mentorship for her with a professional hairdresser.
“These girls are graduating from our programme later today and will receive certificates for their hard work.”
