Kenny G comes to Joburg

JOBURG - Ever dreamt of seeing legendary saxophonist Kenny G swinging his curly locks and playing his soothing saxophone? Dream no more.

Good news for old-school smooth jazz fans: saxophone legend Kenny G will be coming to Johannesburg.

Canoc Productions announced that this international jazz star and songwriter will be performing at the Coca Cola Dome on 20 November. It will be his only performance in South Africa.

“We are exceptionally pleased to bring this phenomenally successful Grammy Award-winning artist to perform in South Africa,” said Pleasure Letsoalo, managing director of Canoc Productions, who are responsible for spoiling us with this great in association with Mzanzi Magic Music.

In a recording career that has spanned almost three decades and 23 albums, Kenny G has cemented his reputation as contemporary jazz’s premier artist. Since the early ’80s touting his mellow saxophone has resulted in sales of more than 75 million records worldwide.

He has collaborated with some of the most iconic figures in American popular music, including Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole and Frank Sinatra. His album Miracles has become the best-selling holiday album of all time, and he has won a Grammy for his single Forever in Love.
