Reader observes the ANC’s “achievements” since 1994

Ivor Tillman writes: Every time an election is due or a public holiday (of which there are many to choose from), ANC ministers, and often their supporters jump onto their little soap boxes and waffle on about all the wonderful milestones that the ANC has achieved during their 20 years in government.

Congratulations on your many accomplishments, and don’t worry the dumbest suckers on the continent of Africa will still vote for the ANC, particularly, when considering their immaculate track record.

Sadly, the most important milestones have been neglected, and it would be remiss not to recognise these, before they are credited to the “previous regime”;

– In just 19 years of ANC rule, unemployment has rocketed by approximately 60 percent.

– South Africa has achieved the recognition of having the highest level of rape and is known as the Rape Capital of the World! This is a fantastic achievement, considering that a mere 20 years ago, rape was very rare in South Africa.

– South Africa has gained the distinction of achieving 140th place (out of 144 countries) in the medical field. The country used to be considered among the highest in the world and notably achieved the first Heart Transplant (Dr Chris Barnard).

Today South Africa produces the highest level of idiots, who are overpaid and yet still demand handouts.

Contrary to the “previous regime’s” backward thinking, people now go to public hospitals to DIE – not to be healed.

Taxi drivers too, contribute to controlling the population density! Under the “previous regime” their contribution was safe transport.

– The ANC promise of increased value too has been achieved. The rand / dollar exchange rate was R3.41 19 years ago and proudly increased by the ANC to R10.41. The petrol price has also responded to the ANC governance and has rocketed from R1.73 to an amazing R14 per litre. Since every commodity has to be transported in South Africa by road since the ANC destroyed the rail transport system, all food prices have rocketed.

– The Republic of South Africa, once known as the “Iron Fist of Africa”, now, after 19 years, has virtually no defence force.

– South Africa has, under ANC rule, achieved another gold medal as 100 000 of our schoolgirls have abortions every year. It has given “permission” by making condoms available to previously underage girls, which has resulted in girls as young as eight and nine years old, becoming / are sexually active. This figure does not take into account “backyard-coat hanger abortions”.

– Our Minister of Education continued to amuse the world and has heralded another ANC success as South African “lernus” [leh-nahs], do not require text books.

– The ANC has also delivered on their promise to provide low-cost housing. Squatter’s shacks, informal settlements, have increased to a whopping 86 percent. Something that the “previous regime” could never have achieved under their legislation.

– Badly maintained roads, potholes, e-Tolls, poor road signage, no positive policing and enforcement of laws and public safety, have been achieved.

– Please, don’t rename Johannesburg “Egoli” – please rename it “Potholi” so everyone will know where it is.
