Six people were arrested for the illegal mining related murder of four men in an operation by the police last Thursday (5 June).
The special operation of which the purpose was to curb illegal-immigrant activities saw a further 112 illegal aliens being arrested. Immigration officers were called in to check the documentation of the arrestees after which they were sent to Lindela Repatriation Centre to be deported.
According to Roodepoort Police spokesperson Nonhlanhla Kumahlo this is only the beginning as police and other relevant agencies work to bring the situation in Durban Deep back to normal.
