Donations to help fight of winter chill

RUIMSIG - Glitz and glam at Sarda brunch as celebs show up to support the organisation during a Fire and Ice event.

Ruismig Country Club played host to a Fire and Ice event that took place on 30 May.

According to South African Riding for the Disabled Association (Sarda) chairperson Julia Morris, the event was hosted by the Muldersdrift Business Women’s Association in order to raise funds for the organisation.

She said, “The colours at the event supported the theme of Fire and Ice as the people who attended the event either wore red or white to represent fire or ice.”

Women’s Association spokesperson Michelle van der Zon said, “The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the organisation and we urged each attendee to bring along a blanket. By doing this, we are able to help less fortunate people stay warm during winter.”

People who attended the event were also surprised to see Mr SA finalist Clive Maisting, Mrs SA finalist Talita Jansen van Vuuren and Afrikaans singer Nianell, who showed their support for the organisation.

Morris added that the organisation will receive the cheque at a handover in June from the Women’s Association.

“I want to thank everyone who attended the event and took time out of their busy schedules to support us,” she concluded.
