Metro Police officers seized dagga with a street value of approximately R1 million in Hamberg early yesterday evening (21 May).
Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar says the haul came after the Metro Police received a tip-off about the operation.
The dagga was being grown in a greenhouse with special lights and fans that create ideal conditions for the weed to grow in.
A 48-year-old man was arrested in connection with the dagga.
He will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon on charges of possession of and dealing in drugs.
