Cowardly neighbour, stop hiding behind pen and paper

STUBENS VALLEY - So this is for the angry neighbour that has been leaving notes on my gate when there is no one around to see you, yet, you have so much to say...

I have been living in the same house in Struben’s Valley for 13 years now. I have seven dogs, all different ages, that I love dearly and would not give up for anything in the world.

Every single one of them is part of my family, and also for protection – face it, an electric fence ain’t going to help much. Yes, they were there before the 2010 bylaws set by the municipality. My dogs bark, yes – on a Monday, especially, as it is Pikitup day and you have people scratching in the dustbins; yes, they bark when someone is walking in the road; yes, they bark when someone is banging with keys on the neighbour’s gate; yes, they bark when a strange car pulls in the driveway, or someone is walking their dog in the road, or a cat is sitting in the road or there is a strange man standing outside my next door neighbour’s gate.

This man is actually the [lookout person] for the man who is actually breaking into the house, at the time, yes, twice it has happened.

Every bark is different. Barking at a cat or another dog is different to when someone is standing at my gate or a strange car is parked outside my property, all to let me know someone or something is there. But people like you are oblivious to this – but constant nuisance barking they do not do!

So this is for the angry neighbour, or should I say the coward that has been leaving notes on my gate in March and again last week Monday morning, when there is no one around to see you, yet, you have so much to say… Well let me say this – I have a suggestion, “grow some balls”, confront me, stop hiding behind your pen and paper.

Come over for tea, and I will educate you and set you straight about the so-called bylaws, you refer to. The bylaws fail to satisfy constitutional requirements and contradict our Bill of Rights. Get your facts straight. I will certainly challenge you and this bylaw and will not surrender a single member of my family.

I will also be putting this message on my gate especially for you…
