A man was injured critically when he was flung from his vehicle on the N1 Western Bypass last Wednesday afternoon (14 May).
He was on the N1 just before 14th Avenue, driving a mini truck that was carrying several gas cylinders.
“The accident apparently occurred when a wheel came off the truck, causing it to overturn,” says ER24 spokesperson Luyanda Majija.
Paramedics treated the man for severe head injuries on scene and later he was transported to Life Flora Clinic for urgent medical care, Majija says.
“While officials were working on the scene a secondary collision occurred, injuring several people from various vehicles.”
No details about the second collision were made available.
