ANC to govern again, DA stronger and EFF in at third.

The final election results was announced on Saturday night by IEC Chairperson Advocate Pansy Tlakula.

Of the 29 parties that contested the election, 13 won seats in the National Assembly.

The ANC won 249 seats while the opposition, the DA won 89.

The results are as follow for the National assembly:

In the hotly contested Gauteng the ANC came out on top again but with less support whereas the DA has grown considerably. New kids on the block, the EFF, now is the third biggest party in the province with considerable support elsewhere.

The results for the Provincial Legislature of Gauteng are as follow:

• IFP – 1

• FF Plus – 1

• EFF – 8

• DA – 23

• ANC – 40

South Africans will go to the polls again in 2016 for the municipal elections.
