Ebenezer House is a registered non-profit organisation that caters for adults with psychiatric disorders.

It offers outpatient treatment, mental health care for the community and houses at least 30 patients. They try to assist disadvantaged communities and offer workshops during the week.

Many of the residents had been in psychiatric hospitals and although they were discharged and no longer receive treatment, they still need some form of care.

The majority simply cannot afford private care since they only receive a disability grant, 75 per cent of which is used to pay their board.

The Ebenezer staff includes psychiatrists, social workers and carers.

The head of fundraising, Kerry von Buddenbrock recently has helped to organise an annual cycle challenge.
