Launch of the school of art in self-defence

The South African Wing Tsun Combat Academy (SAWTCA) School will be launched in Strubens Valley, at Ye Sizwe Security Offices on 26 April, at 1pm. Teacher and leader of the school Sifu Kevin Stewart said a free seminar in the art of self defense will be presented during the launch.

A Sifu, is an accomplished teacher who oversees apprentices in certain traditions and philophies.

Wing Tsun, is a self-defence combat art, teaches law enforcement tactics and emergency combat response. According to Stewart, it applies weapon and empty hand skills helping you to respond effectively to conflict situations. It also goes deep into psychology surrounding fear and incorporates target hardening and conflict recognition techniques.

Stewart is described as a highly-skilled and trained instructor who has 20 years of experience in Wing Tsun. He received further training with a number of world renowned masters and grand masters including lp Chun, lp Ching, Emin Boztepe and Randy Williams. His primary instruction was with Master Chen Chuan Fun, in Hong Kong.
